The year 2022 started with a grand celebration of the installation of the Principal of Aizawl Theological College on 12th January 2022 at the College Chapel. It was a great time for the whole Faculty and staff of the College as well as members of the Synod Theological Education Board, who witnessed the installation of Rev. Dr. Tlanghmingthanga as a new Principal. It was also an opportunity for the whole ATC community to express our thanksgiving towards God for the wonderful leadership provided by Rev. Dr. Vanlalnghaka Ralte as a Principal during the period 2019-2021.
The Installation Service was solemnly conducted by Rev. Dr. Vanlalnghaka Ralte, Moderator of Mizoram Presbyterian Church Synod. On behalf of the Synod Theological Education Board, Rev. C. Zorammawia, the Senior Executive Secretary gave introduction of new Principal. The Senior Executive secretary also announced the new Registrar and new Deans, who were appointed by the governing board, and they are:
Registrar: Rev. Dr. H. Vanlalruata
Dean of Graduate Studies: Rev. Dr. L.H. Rawsea
Dean of Post-Graduate Studies: Dr. Lalrindiki Ralte
Dean of Doctoral Studies: Rev. Dr. P.R. Hmuaka
In his installation speech as the Principal, Rev. Dr. Tlanghmingthanga pledged to serve the College by continuing the ongoing works, projects, and traditions initiated by the previous leaders and faithfully discharge his responsibilities for the glory of God. The new Principal insisted on the primacy of unity and cooperation for the growth and development of the College by saying, “Everything we do in ATC is team work. The Faculty and the Staff have taken steps harmoniously in consultation with one another. It has always been an enjoyable one. In reality, both members of Faculty and the Staff are the real backbone of our College.”
Another very important part of the service was the words of encouragement rendered for the new Principal by the Senior Executive Secretary. He also offered intercessory prayer for the Principal, new Deans, faculty members, staff, students and their families, seeking God’s guidance as we step into the year 2022.
Due to the Covid protocol a small number of participants attended the service physically. Many leaders of the Church, students (both past and present) of the College and theological fraternity of Senate of Serampore College/University gave their greetings and best wishes through social media to Rev. Dr. Tlanghmingthanga.
